Joan Angelakis, Certified TIR Trainer

Joan Angelakis

An Interview with Joan Angelakis :

VV: How long have you been a TIR trainer?

Joan: I became a TIR trainer in 2014.

VV:What inspired you to become a TIR trainer?

Joan:I had been using TIR and Unblocking and seeing AMAZING results with my clients. I realized that there were a whole group of people, from a variety of communities, that needed these services but did not have access to them. I realized that if I became a TIR Trainer, then Licensed Counselors as well as others working in the helping professions could bring these AMAZING techniques to their own places of work, communities where they live and places of worship. As a trainer, I could also make it more affordable

VV:What do you find rewarding about it?

Joan:On my Crown Cove Counseling business card I have a Bible scripture from John 8:32 “You shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” This has long been my belief and my mission as a therapist. TIR & LSR has given me AMAZING tools to help facilitate this process in people. I see miracles happening every day. I like the fact that these techniques are cross cultural and can be applied to almost any situation.

VV:Are you willing to travel to deliver training, if so under what conditions?

Joan:Yes, as opportunities arise. A plan is worked out that is doable for those requesting the training and TIR Institute of Maine..

VV:Do you have a private practice?

Joan:Yes, Crown Cove Counseling in Smithfield, Maine. I work with adults and couples. This is also where I hold most of my workshops

VV:Besides TIR, what other things are you interested in?

Joan:Well...we live on beautiful North Pond so we enjoy boating and swimming and watching the wildlife. I love my family and love spending time with my grandchildren. I like to cook Greek food and share it with others. I am active in prayer ministry in my church

VV:Describe your professional background?

Joan:Describe your professional background. I have a BSW form Salem State University and an MSW from Boston University. I worked in community mental health for 10 years before starting my private practice 17 years ago.
