An Interview with Victor Lyons:

VV: How long have you been a TIR trainer?

Victor: I first started training about 16 years ago

VV: What inspired you to become a TIR trainer?

Victor: I had been delivering TIR to clients since it was first put together in the early 1980’s. It was easy to see that if you have several billion people in the world, of whom a large number could benefit enormously from TIR, then training others was an absolute must.

VV: What do you find rewarding about it?

Victor:I like the look on the students' faces after they have delivered their first good session. It’s often life-changing.

VV: Are you willing to travel to deliver training, if so under what conditions?

Victor: I have worked on 4 different continents and I love travelling, so I’m happy to go anywhere.

VV: Do you have a private practice?

Victor: Yes. I used to practice in Delhi, now I practice in London.

VV: Besides TIR, what other things are you interested in?

Victor: 1) Adult literacy 2) Life-skills training for employability. I set up both sets of programs in India. So far we have made 60,000 women literate, and we have got 16,000 unemployed youths into permanent employment..

VV: Describe your professional background?

Victor: I’m primarily an inventor. I’ve invented market-leading IT programs, advanced counselling techniques, and educational programs for the developing world. I’ve been appointed a Visiting Fellow at the Royal Institution of Great Britain in recognition of my work in education as well as mental health. But now that I am older, I am concerned that the techniques we already have to change the quality of life, especially TIR, need effective PR and marketing so that they can be delivered on a massive world-wide basis. So that’s what I’m concentrating on now.
